(Back from the Past) Walking Weekend

(From 4/5/2008)
The weekeend is here. It's time then to see a little bit more of the city. I started late both days, it seems I have a difficult time getting out of bed, but I managed to see a good part of downtown and the shopping neighbourhoods. From what I have learned, Taiwan is a little over one hundred years hold and it doesn't seem to have many things to see. The feelings that you get after walking around for a while are of noise, too many cars, pollution and lots and lots of people. No surprises, I guess. Of course, everything looks better with a little bit of sunshine.

Buildings are not very nice, generally. Like this one

but there are some uglier. There are the called "Night Markets", open until late, which can be next to more modern buildings

and then, of course, the "101", a skyscraper taller than 500m. The tallest in the world, according to them (of course, in Chicago they differentiate between building and antenna)

Next weekend will be probably more diverse.
